My Story
I was an only child, raised in a troubled, working class home in a concrete council estate in London. My expression, my sensitivity, the fact of me taking up space - all of it was shut down, sometimes with violence, or humiliation. I was a body full of feeling with nowhere for any of it to go, and so it turned against me instead.
Teen alcoholism became an escape. I tried to find belonging in the hedonistic rave scene of the 90's. Neither worked and my repressed expression became depression, anxiety, chronic illness and crippling panic attacks. My own mind felt like an unsafe place.
In 2009, after years of trying to numb myself or fix myself through every therapeutic avenue I could find, I ended up in hospital following a crisis-burnout that made one thing absolutely clear to me: I had to learn about the nature of mind. As a literal survival imperative.
So that's what I did. I started meditating. I immersed in a self-study of the world's great spiritual traditions, I devoured philosophy, psychology and neuroscience books and research papers. I was drawn to seek out excellent teachers all over the world and I sat in silent retreats for up to 7 months at a time.
Eventually I studied to become a meditation teacher. I gave up a lucrative career in the film industry & fashion industry to move to S.E Asia, and trained in yoga, somatic work, transpersonal coaching, hypnotherapy, NLP and IFS. I dove into the neuropsychology of human experience, learned qigong and explored tantra. I went to places of deep shame - in group work, and plant medicine ceremonies. I faced fears that felt intolerable in their intensity, over and over, until I understood something that changed everything: the only way to build capacity is to be with what you fear you cannot hold, and learn that you can survive it.
The feelings I had tried to avoid at all cost; abandonment, humiliation, unworthiness and the grief of a child whose expression was crushed, became the territory I learned to move through most freely. And what I discovered, working with thousands of people over more than a decade, is that the thing you were most wounded by is almost always the thing you are most equipped to guide others through. The wound is not incidental to the path. It is the path.
If you're here considering joining me for The Wound is the Way, chances are you've caught a glimpse of who I am and what I'm about. You sense the uncommon, potent, and distinctive energy I bring, and it resonates with you.
Within this container, I'll serve as your guide towards new dimensions of mastery, self-expression and soul artistry. Stepping into your power may be activating at times, it will certainly be playful, but your boundaries & capacity will be respected as your growth is nurtured.
I commit to being fully seen as much as I commit to fully seeing you. So if you are seeking genuine connection and mutual understanding, this is the space for you.
As a Projector in Human Design, my purpose is clear: to guide, to impart wisdom, to ignite passion, and to reveal beauty.
